Saluting the 2012 Inductees into the EMU Forensics Hall of Fame

L-R: Nina Brennan, Amber Neueschwander-Price,  Christopher Griesinger Jacob Hodgson and  Annalisa Esposito-Bluhm

We were proud to induct six new members into the EMU Forensics Hall of Fame on December 1, 2012. The five who were able to join the ceremony are pictured and named above. The sixth inductee, LaTonya Masson, was not able to attend. The long-standing tradition of EMU Forensics remains intact and these outstanding past members certainly demonstrated with their remarks the reason they are champions of this highly competitive program.

Welcome Back!

It's official — fall semester 2012 is here and students are excited to be back on campus. Food and friendship were the focus of the day at our annual EMU Theatre Welcome Back Picnic. Held on the south lawn of Quirk on Thursday, September 6, 2012, students, faculty and friends enjoyed hot dogs, games and tye-dyed t-shirts to show their support of the student org: EMU Players.

After 31 Years of Service as Department Head of CMTA

Dennis Beagen, an icon of our department and to the entire EMU community, stepped down as our department head on July 1st. The faculty and staff honored him for his extraordinary vision at a reception held in conjunction with EMU Theatre's spring show, 39 Steps. Dennis and his wife, Char, are pictured here with the commemorative shovel he received that evening. Thank you Dennis for your devotion to CMTA and for your passion for EMU!

Sally McCracken and Bette Warren Retire

Following a performance of Guys and Dolls on Saturday April 14, 2012 CMTA hosted a most special reception to honor the retirement Sally McCracken and Bette Warren. Their retirement adventures include traveling in their new F-350 and 5th-wheel trailer (they are pictured here)! We send them our best and our sincere thanks for so many years of outstanding service to Eastern Michigan University and the departments of communication, media & theatre arts, and mathematics.

Honoring their EMU service, a scholarship was endowed in both of their names. If you would like to share your personal congratulations and contribution to this endowment, email wkivi@emich for a donation form.
